I've been resisting TF2 since I know how addicitive TF is from the original Quake1 like 8 odd years ago when the phone bills went through the roof ... and then forced me to go ISDN for the ping upgrade. I gave in and got TF2 for Christmas and got time to play it the last couple of days and its every bit as brilliant as it ever was.
Anyway I've been playing around on various servers, re-learning the way the classes work best as I havent played TF since its Quake1 incarnation... and getting lost on new maps as you always do to start with on a new game. What I noticed when I randomly joined your server was that there was a marked difference in the general quality of play and it reminded me of when I was in a Medal of Honour clan [4-UK] a little while back, where, like yours, the server was not full 24/7 but we had quality players and a good respectful cameraderie going on. (Teamspeak and a few beers always went hand in hand with it )
Many of us at 4-UK http://www.4-uk.net drifted away and became inactive after the original MOHAA became less popular... I went back to full-on sim racing which I'm also well into... been on the crew at The Pits http://www.theuspits.com for donkeys years now and I'm sponsored by BallRacing http://www.interactiveracing.com
Anyway I just wanted to say hi as I'm particularly enjoying playing on your server since it reminds me of top times in my last clan, so I'll see you server side for some happy fragging and uber healing... More observations on playing medic I may post seperately as I seem to end up playing this class a lot because it seems to me that few play it well (in my very limited experience before finding your server) which is a shame because a well timed (and this is critical) uber or 2 with a player that obviously knows what to do with one can really turn the tide of a round.
Thanks for a top server to play on... see ya there and maybe we if both continue to like what we see I could join you assuming you are still recruiting. I'll probably be the one either getting lost on unknown maps and playing medic a fair bit... while I do a bit of self adminstered medication courtesy of my yuletide mate Jim Beam He doesnt help me play better during the holiday season (so bear that in mind along with my noobness), but he's still a good mate

Ello. You are welcome to become a reg , or server regular, if you wish. Stick @H|H on the name and et voila.
And I've still got MoHAA. Got it rather late though, about 3 years after it was released I think. Really enjoyed the classics on the Playstation and Frontline on the PS2. Rising Sun wasn't brilliant though. Evidently I wasnt the only one who realised that, and EA cut the sequel to it.
Hey ShootsUsir! Welcome! MOHAA eh? Were you ever a member of the pure-mohaa.co.uk community? I was an admin on there for a while under the name Choronzon. Also a member of the RSoBB multi game (but mainly mohaa and cod) clan. Remember them?

Re: Rootin Tootin Shootin
Hello matey, yeah I do remember them. In fact it was one of the lads from our clan that wrote the first anti-cheat software for MOHAA. It subsequently got bigger and bettered by punkbuster and such... mostly because in general most folks were not up for having some program running in the background that starts with windows... how times change ehh? I farging hate cheats with a passion... I'm not the best player in the world, but I did on odd occasions the heyday with MOHAA manage for the odd day to clock the #1 rank. No-one ever held it for prolonged periods of time because of the way the ranking works... good thing IMHO. I was expert on SMG... run around like a headless chicken... circle strafe like you invented it... lean like fook... and lean-strafe, single-shot-for-accuracy towards a sniper and you could seriously have some fun
I liked most classes in MOHAA, as I do in TF2 but there is no real direct comparison of SMG in MOHAA to TF2... well Scout maybe in a way I guess kinda thing.
Still staggers me how underrated the medic is when played right... I've kept 2-4 players going in the thick of battle and ubered up multiple times before snuffing it myself from splash damage. Normally I wouldnt play support class as I'm too much of an SMG MOHAA "get in there" kinda bloke, but the medic here is actually "well 'ard" in his own way in this game. The amount of people I've had come up to me thinking I'm a "cant shoot fer shite" medic only to get their soldier/heavy ass handed to them with my circle-strafe, putt-putt syringe gun... its well funny when people treat you like a noob and get their butts handed to them like that
