Fancy new memory not stable. OCZ ReaperX hpc
Just got my fancy new sticks this morning (see shiny pic below). Oh how happy I was! They weighed a ton and they are absolutely HUGE! But only needing 2x2GB in my system I'm ok. (although a bit close to top gpu for comfort)
First boot up with new Ram- Black screen.... Oh god. here we go...
Hold breath, boot again... YEY! All fine and BIOS reading it as 800mhz... breathe a sigh of relief.
Enter in stock timings, boot up Assassin's Creed (a good test program as it is so damn intensive) and indeed a small performance boost. Great.
Then... LOCKUP!!!!!! ....... balls ........
Changed timings from the rated 4-4-3-15 to 4-4-4-12 and I still hang in-game.
ANY ideas? Im running an ASUS P5N32-E SLi mobo, Q6600 unclocked, Twin 8800GTX and Vista home prem 64 (damnit)

Thanks to the almighty PilsY I've solved the stability issue. Was simply the Ram voltage which was preset at the rather measly 1.8v....
As suggested by the Pilsmiester upping it to 2.1v has made things much more stable.
Now at last I can run Crysis at a speed that is almost worthy of my machine. At least the demo in DX9, 1280x1024, high, seemed far more playable. Actually not a bad game now i can aim at stuff, will have to get my copy back!
