You can crack some of the DX10 effects through to XP.... but still, i get your point. I was a problem Vista suer myself, although I was silly enough to go for 64.

Things are ironing out now though. My performance in Vista64 is now happly running faster than in XP. Though XP is still the daddy for performance.

Alot of the vista64 updates recently hav fixed ALOT of things actually on my machine. It now actually recognises Oblivion and will now run BF heroes too.

Who knows what improvements they'll make by 2014... i seem to remember XP being crap for a fair while.

Or is this 'Windows 7' thing where tottally where it's at?

I'm sticking with XP atm...until I REALLY have to change...vista's a resource hog...all flashy lights but no true style

Good news as I lost my XP disk, will upgrade my ATI-AMD system with xp soon

Vista will stop you from having fun with games and may even result in being slower then XP.
Just stay with XP, I like the whole 2-D feature anyway.
