If its related to nv4 thats definately the nvidia driver, uninstall the nvid driver and reinstall completely a new one (and by uninstall i mean EVERYTHING, purge the system of nvidia, which you should do anyways, but since you have their card you might as well reinstall it, unless you have the cash floating around for one of These babies
Well like I said in the OP, I just did exactly that before the BSODs started comin. Also, I sure as heck won't be getting an ATI card (again), especially not that one with a 3GHz dualcore processor
Didnt get any more BSODs yesterday, guess I'm good for now.
You showoff...I'll be looking forward to receiving mine in the mail soon then. :p
Guess I'll re-install the drivers now, just crashed TF2 completely randomly, then when I tried to connect to a UT3 server it crashed that too so...dont have another choice...seriously, wtf, never had any trouble with this >.<

Re: BSOD
Could be motherboard drivers.
Did you run the cleaner programs in safe mode? If not give that a go then reinstall ALL drivers starting with motherboard.
Another option could be F5 on startup and last known good configuration. Ive not known it to work yet but you may be lucky .
The actual BSOD error would be useful (infinite loop / time count fail / irql not equal) if the above doesnt help...
lol thanks, gonna do that tomorrow but got a different BSOD today (makes me sick to my stomach that blue I tell ya), PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, so I'll run memtest86 tonight and see how that turns out, maybe that's all the trouble...cheap noname RAM in my machine...possibly a good opportunity to upgrade me thinks
Really makes me sad when my baby doesnt do well..every crash is like a knife in my heart...
Memtest found 155 errors, I know what I'm spending the rest of my money on, who needs food.
At least I can upgrade 2GB -> 4GB then.

Re: BSOD
Check your memory timings and voltage fluffy mate.
Post back here with what its set to now and i'll see what we can figure out. Need timings, ratio and voltage. Also make sure you dont have command rate set to 1T or anything daft like that.
Which memtest test failed? It can also pick up motherboard problems, not just ram. Certain graphics booster technologies can cause memtest faults - asus cross graphics impeller (CGI) is a prime example.
If you want memory I have some rather good Kingston HyperX PC9200 here that all does 1066mhz @ 1.8v @ auto timings. PM me if you're interested.
Same for both memory sticks, just quickly ran Everest, thats what I got....I dont OC so every setting oughta be on default...also thanks alot for the offer but I just ordered 2x 2GB Kingston DDR2 today. Like I said, wanted to upgrade anyway

Re: BSOD
No worries, its my spare anyway, just thought i'd offer .
That memory you have now is shite, definitely better off replacing than messing about in bios.
These...not great but unexpensive and ok for my purposes (like I said, dont usually OC if I dont have to)...my upgrading-plan didnt foresee a RAM upgrade right now (GPU first, then mobo and processor, RAM after that) so I kinda wanna get off cheap.
Also, yeah I know it sucks, I got a nvidia gf 8800 gts 320 mb, an amd athlon 6000 x2 3,0GHz and 2 GB ram in a thermaltake case with 3 fans (just love the case, worth mentioning indeed, haha) and what not for like 450 quid iirc, actually my first own PC (that wasnt way old when I got it), was a good start imo, can work with that atm.
Unfortunately wasted my childhood with that darn PS...
