how much you want to spend? up to 150 go for the 8800 series, good n reliable over 150 go for a better 8800 over 350 get 2 8800
basically the 8800 ultra is still (in my opinion) the best on the market as far as value for money, performance and reliability go and there are plenty of options for most budgets, just dont go for the gs option, ever.

Well I have a 320MB 8800 GTS now and am not happy with it, not sure how much higher I have to go to be satisfied since playing with less than 40 fps gives me a headache :p
Also there's no point in getting an insanely powerful card since I only got a 3GHz AMD dualcore and a shitty mobo (only 2GB RAM supported) which Im kinda stuck with at the moment.
Kinda need to find the best possible performance without wasting energy so to speak.
Oh yeah, forgot about the price range :> Well Im open for all suggestions including only 1 GPU, money isnt rreally that much of a factor but say...300.
Edit: Just saw my GPU isnt dead at all, keep going though, I wanna get a new one anyway. Also neeed a new mobo and processor, im a ttotal mobo noob so...bring it on. please.
P.s. I freaking hate the spelling errors ttoo but its the keyboard, im sending it back next week, i sswear.

Re: I did it!
9800GTX+ .... for various reasons...
Clock speeds are much higher than the 8800GT making 1900 x 1200 res playable. Full size heatsink meaning its quiet and temp stays low even on full load. Power saving is excellent, draws less power at idle than equivalent ati cards. PhysX support in hardware, can only be a good thing and not a drawback. Price - £130
The ATI 4850 is close in performance if not a touch better, but it has a tiny heatsink and whining fan, runs a LOT hotter and only has software physX support. Its roughly £15 cheaper than the 9800GTX+ but I can only see the gtx improving with time as physX gets used more. Anything that offloads cycles from your cpu is helpful in your case.

Ooh, yeah, that sounds great.
Not like I need 1900x1200 resolution with my 19" widescreen (dont wanna have to buy a 5ft long desk to be able to see shit, lol) but the price is pretty...surprising actually.

Re: I did it!
Yeah its good at that price. Having said that Im about to buy a Gigabyte 8800GT OC with a Zalman cooler for £82, at that price I couldnt resist.
Not sure how much of an upgrade itll be from my 7900GTX though. I probably should wait but im impatient :p.
