Right, this is really starting to piss me off and has only started happening since I re installed TF about a month ago.
Every now and again, usually at the most vital moment of something, the game completely freezes and stutters. If I ctl+alt+del out and manage to minimize to the desktop, TF starts working again. Sometimes it dies completely and I have to restart entirely.
This, evidently, IS BEGINNING TO FUCK ME OFF.
I've verified integrity, defragged, etc and stopped just short of a clean re install.
Anybody else had this problem? Anybody got any solutions?
Anyone got any witty comments?

3F, had to reinstall all my graphic and sound drivers.
Extra, I thought that's what most people would say but I was intrigued to see if any others have had the same problem.
Theres been reports from the local cesspit that the same thing is happening to some otheres, but not quite exactly the same as your situation. TBH I'd just run through the motions, update drivers, check for virus/malware, defrag, and failing that reinstall windows...
lol I recently had a similar situation...same problems, stuttering, sound looping, having to completely reboot...after some time I noticed I had copied over the "movie.cfg" from my old install. Apparently I sometimes type without hitting enter first resulting in me pressing the key that execs "startmovie" (o).
Make sure it's not something stupid like that.
Apart from that, like Extra said, there are tons of people having low fps, freezing and what not problems for no apparent reason...frankly most of them are highly suspected to be idiots and I can imagine they're running an armada of useless tray-programs...damn, forgot where I was going with this.

Yup, don't use any custom CFG's. I had some graphics ones but after deleting them I still have the same problems.
As for tray programs, I've already seen the effect "completely legal" torrent progs, etc, have on my FPS and never leave em open. Don't have any active antivirus, blah blah blah woof woof woof.
