So because the OS went down, you've already done a clean install?

If you've already re-installed the OS, the GFX drivers and the game, I doubt renaming the TF2 folder will sort this, but it might if I've missed something.

Do you have similar problems in any other games? Any errors in windows that might indicate a hardware issue maybe?

Any idea what caused the original OS issue in the first place?

i'm getting the same issue now

did another reinstall (2 in 1 week)

only installed drivers and tf2, no av or firewall etc etc

i get to play for about 5 to 15 mins and then it just freezes

hopefully they will have an update soon, as tf2 is now unplayable for me

^ Dude, I've tried pretty much everything as well.

I did a fresh reinstall, but I didn't delete my files left in the tf folder after uninstall, that might be the thing i try next.

Installed newest gfx drivers, no good. Ran it without winamp (the only thing i usually have running) in the background, no good. Defragged, no good.

I don't even know how to go about fixing something with no obvious cause.

i think its tf2, as i played stranglehold for 2 solid hours after giving up with tf2

I had a map change problemo yesterday, it was crashign everytime i changed map, solution i found was to delete the skins i just downloaded, try emptying your custom skins folder...

Have you tried rebooting it

fresh xp install

latest drivers

fresh tf2 install

no custom skins or anything

no av or firewall

still crashes

will just have to wait till the next update in the hope they fix it
