Re: My PC is dying a painful bloody death
I'm going to get a new mobo, I've heard that to fit my existing one into a new case will involve sawing and gluing and cutting and soldering and I can't really trust myself to do any of that properly.
All I have on my current CPU is a heatsink.
I've already tried wiping my hard drive several times, and trying both XP and Vista. Both conjure up weird mixes of problems.
I tried putting my old card back in, now I can't even get the damn thing to start up in safe mode.
Also. read through 'two pairs of 512mb ram sticks' again and tell me I don't have 2gb.

I think its generally considered to be a bad idea getting arsey with people that are trying to help you Sam
If you can afford it, ditch that RAM and get 2X1gig sticks at the fastest speed your fsb can utalise.

To me that reads 2 x 512 sticks = 1gb.
Only trying to help.

Off the top of my head your cpu could either be socket 939 or socket AM2 so that board isnt necessarily right. Download cpuZ which should tell you your socket type.
