Upon launching the game, as soon as the loading screen finishes and it should go to the menu, the game crashes to desktop.

The only menu modification I'm using is frog's custom menu (which never caused serious problems before- sometimes the menu will be...disfigured but it never crashes the client) and the only thing that's changed on my PC since I last played is...well, new steam and TF2 update obviously.

Any ideas?


P.S.: It's not my fecking firewall! ;P

Does this happen all the time or just once in a while?

I usually have a CTD upon launching TF2 when my pc is already using too much RAM/CPU.
Haven't tried it with the new steam yet though =/

This just happens now (every time I try and launch the game), never did before, and I sadly have more than enough ram and cpu free.

verify files and rename the team fortress 2 directory in your steam folder for testing purposes.

Yea, it seems to be the custom menu..
Will post again if I can find out how to make it work again.

Actually it seems it was P-REC's fault...cba to check atm.

P-Rec will crash your game after update if you don't remove it. That's a confirmed issue.
