here the thing: when i use the shortcut i create to disable 'Wireless Zero Configuration', my connection to the router (not the internet) stops. not just ingame, even when im doing nothing.
I know (but dont want to ) buy a new network card, the same brand as my router (dlink). But if anybody has some other pc-magic to fix it, feel free to add (and gain my eternal, oily friendship)

Re: wireless troubles part 2 (ffs...)
hmm, i used to have G router and N card (bought the N one because i was able to sniff other networks but nm). i dont feel like upgrading both to N (i have G router, G card now).
So i hope everything will be solved if i just buy a dlink card, like i used to have (before it got fried) + it would be alot cheaper then getting a belkin + belkin card.
Would this brand-thing be a problem in win7? Maybe its time for an upgrade there altough i cant be bothered to get win7.
pc is great when it works -_-

So you've installed a new wireless card?
It could be that the new wireless card only supports zero config SSID search. Seen this in some of the newer netbooks. Turn off zero config and it works for about 2 mins then dies.
I should be able to get hold of an old netgear WG54v2 or v3 if you want? I had a load of them at one point, should still be one knocking around somewhere. I know that one will let you turn off zero config and still work. I'll have a search when I get home.
