Re: TF2 map change crash
Well, just been playing on "other" servers to set my mind at rest about the crash only happening on HH, and managed to get the game to crash when I changed from one server to another. So that now, sort of sets one issue aside.
On a side note, what an effing place "other" servers are when you are used to playing here. Was on a UKCS server running Viaduct and the team I joined were being steamrolled badly (even before I joined ), there didn't seem to be any set-up for scramble or whatever, not sure whether any admins were about (not my problem, won't got there again) and to make matters worse two heavies along with medics kept moving forward and spawn-camping, with a seemingly endless number of ubers. No one could get out, I was even killed by a sniper in spawn.
Don't like to criticize the others, but bleeding hell...

off topic: Yeah i just can't play on other servers after being here on HH's for so long.
on topic: I experienced this map crash once when the patch came out but not since, has it been fixed? Also today i crashed mid game for the 1st time almost directly after telling Byakuren how i've never had tf2 crash on me lol.
And UKCS are notoriously poorly adminned. Never one around when you need them. Probably part of the problem is them being so big, but in some ways shouldnt it make it easier too?

Re: TF2 map change crash
Right, I have an update. Spider I do have multi-core enabled.
Also I left Memtest running this morning all on its own and came back and my computer had shut-down (crashed), not gone to sleep. On rebooting it wanted to do a Windows Error check, which I declined in this case (good or bad, not sure). Windows loaded fine, but came up with Windows recovered from unexpected etc.
Error details were:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057
Additional information about the problem: BCCode: a0 BCP1: 000000000000000B BCP2: 000000008FEDE000 BCP3: 0000000000000003 BCP4: 000000000C272000 OS Version: 6_1_7600 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 768_1

Re: TF2 map change crash
Not really sure whats going on now. I took your advice Spider and turned off the multicore, but after a while the graphics got choppy, so had to put it back on again. However since turning it off and also back on, I haven't (touch wood) had any crashes, and this had been twenty plus map changes.
