So with the advent of closer inspection of our internet use habits in the UK, has anyone tried out any of the VPN service providers that seem to be around?

I'm looking for recommendations if possible

Ha furies, you read my mind. With heading to china again id like to try get one of these to get around the great firewall of china. I know the VP of the company im working for has one that gets him around the firewall, so if I havent found anything before I make it out there Ill ask him what he uses, try it on my laptop and then let you know what it is

I use hotspot shield to watch american tv shows.

Hotspot shield website and download sites, all blocked by china firewall.

Good old Vuze comes to the rescue.

Download Hotspot shield in two minutes and....


No more shitty firewall

Cheers Agent tried this last year in China so either they have upgraded it or it only works in Beijing. I still have to head to where I work to test it out there
