I've had this before, it happens randomly to people in my friends list. Usually restarting steam fixes it but sometimes it wouldn't go away until waiting a day and then restarting steam.

Well, havent restarted yet, thought it might have been some kind of feature I dont know of than rather a bug.

its for name duplicates or yeh when steam fucks up and thinks there are 2 of you. same kinda thing when you crash in tf2 and a ghost is still on the server (im guessing)

Never experienced this but it usually comes from when someone disconnects from steam then reconnects before their old session has ended steam side?

Potentially similar to in TF2 where an immediate reconnect (i.e. before the server has realised you ever exited) and you get your name as...

Another problem: when in-game (TF2 or HL2DM) if I start chatting with someone on Steam, sometimes It starts to type backwards.
