http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xigmatek-UTGARD-Pure-Black-Gaming-Mid-Tower-Case-w-o-PSU is the case I got when I did my build, can definitely recommend it - Lots of space and pretty good looking, with some good cooling for about £65 - not bad imo I would recommend a new case though as that one does look a mite small for the gear you'll be putting in - you won't regret it.

Can recommend an SSD as well, definitely worth the money as far as I can tell - I'm managing with a 64gb SSD and have windows and steam on it with the rest sitting on another hdd - have to delete games to make room for new ones but I just create backups on the other drive and it's all gravy - very fast to swap over.

GFX - can recommend the ATI HD5870. I've been running EVERYTHING on the uber highest settings with no problems and at good fps. The 5970 is basically just two 5870s in crossfire - my plan eventually is to buy a second 5870 and run them in crossfire.

CPU - i7 of some sort - with your budget you'll be able to afford a better one than me (i7-920).

For your budget you should definitely be able to fit in an SSD and I'd say it's definitely worth it

Just ordered an obsidian case through a mate, dunno how much it's gonna cost me yet but it should be more than reasonable going by past experiences.

Chances are it will be left to gather dust for a while as the card I'm using is not as terrible as i was expecting it to be for a placeholder (But it's by no means good either).

Going to wait to see how much the case costs to see what ive got to work with.

So time to update this.

Having put this on the back burner after buying a new car I've gotta go out and build the new rig, helped in no small part by catastrophic hard drive failure. Long story short i won't be online too much for a few weeks , (except on the laptop every so often to keep in contact) while i sort this out.

time to throw this PoS on the scrap heap and fork out

Declined the case in the end, cost more than i think it's worth after seeing it up close.

So i guess this is goodbye again.

technology, who bloody needs it :/

Spec'd this up, any potential nightmares i havent spotted? If i do go for this I'm fairly sure it's gonna need water coolant to keep the temp down but i won't be OC'ing it.

The sound, i'm gonna have on board or take from my existing pc, Due to issues reguarding my hearing i really dont want anything that'll blow my head off so to speak :P

so anyway onto the spec

I have a xfx 5870 xxx sitting doing nothing. I would be happy to part with it for £'s. It just isn't stable in my system but I RMA'd it and it came back as being fine. I haven't even taken it out of the box that its in. If you are interested name your price and I will send it to you to make sure that its okay in your system before you need to send me the £'s.
