The big green Android marketplace button on front should have told you that by the start Captain Obvious.

Also, my Android OS got updated to version 2.2 this morning and I am eager to see which new things await and/or old bugs are still there. ATM all seems fine and its running stable.
(KIES sucks tbh.)

I've had a sony x10 mini pro for about month and I like it. Not got a huge screen like the desire but it only cost me 100 second hand on amazon and no stupidly long and binding contract :)

Android is the bees knees whatever phone its on. :vuvuzela:

ps. dont expect your battery to last longer than 24 hours though! Damn juice sucking smart phones !

In my experience the smart phone can run longer than 24 hours ...IF you dont watch videos and play games all day ;)

And you dont forget such nifty little programs like Advanced Task Killer... one of the best programs for Android tbh :D

I've heard that rooting and installing certain roms - in particular the Cyanogenmod - can greatly boost battery life.

I'll probably give it a go at some point, because it sounds kinda fun. And yes, I do understand the risks.

Cyanogenmod does not increase battery life, it actually drastically decreases it, I ran it originally on a G1 and then on a G2 (Hero with a different name) and just to put it into perspective of how much im fed up of Android now, ive got my free upgrade coming in 3 months at which time it looks like i will have the option of a Desire HD, HD7 or iPhone 4, I'm leaning towards the HD7 in all honesty, mainly because as far as dev environments go its certainly more familiar than a dodgy java rip off and an obj c mind screw. oh and the phone looks and feels nicer than the others :P

I'm just going to point at the Supercomputer Thread.

Then I'm not going to say anything.

The only good thing about Blackberries is that you can giggle at the word RIM.

Actually I was just about to post that my blackberry has an average uptime of about a month, seeing how I have networking disabled and just use it as an mp3- and video-player on a daily basis; even before that, though, the average uptime was about 2-3 weeks. I don't know if that is a lot in comparison to the (presumably considerably worse :>) phones you all are talking about, but even if not, that's a long (and very managable in terms of recharging) time in comparison to the old bricks that used to be around (anyone remember Nokia? lololo).

Yeah, yeah, i knew that was going to reappear at some point, however this is actually a valid point, ive used multiple custom firmware options on my G2 and tbh none of them rhave really done anything apart from introduce updates, other than that they are generally just a hindrance as they just slow things down (Vanillain is a massive culprit of being absolute crap)

My battery life doubled once I removed advanced task killer.

Android does not run like windows. On windows if you have 1gb of free memory its much slower than 2gb of memory despite nothing using it. Android manages memory and performs much better without ATK

What browsers are people using? Ive found the UC browser to be the best by a mile so far, certainly better than firefox beta.

I have a rooted Desire HD :) Love it.
