| Post subject: | Major Steam Problem |
I've got a MAJOR Steam Problem right now! I tried to move my Steam Installation from my C to my D Harddrive( using steams guideline on how to do it) and now whenever I try to start steam it says: "(major exception) you must be connected to the internet to run steam" (which obliviously I'm since I'm writing this) I have NO clue on what to do anymore ( I tried everything that the steam guideline told me about the connection problems but nothing worked..) I reinstalled steam and so on. Please help me I'm running out of plans on what to do... |

When I moved my Steam files from my C:/ to my D:/ drive I just deleted and then re-downloaded Steam (it's 1.5MB). Otherwise, seeing as you haven't mentioned if this is a computer/Windows message or a message in a Steam window, then I have no clue. |

Have you started a Steam support ticket? |

Have you downloaded a fresh client and installed that? Did you unblock steam.exe in UAC and windows firewall? |

I've tried ALL of that but it doesn't work...I'm currently trying something different: deleting all regestry entries for anything valve related ( and it seems to work as steam is finally updating again Oo) EDIT: ok it seems to work so far now to see if TF2 isn't dicking me over ^^""" EDIT2: Well Steam seems to work but TF2 doesn't I guess I reinstall it completely ( after defragging files and verfiying the gamecache didn't do jack or shit) which means I'll see you guys probably tonight or tommorrow so unit then. |
