Ok, I figured the new GPU is dead.
Bought a new mobo today and it still didn't work, then I tried my new mobo with my old GPU and PSU and it worked.
Now when I boot up with new GPU+PSU I hear a couple of beep sounds, from which i could tell that the gpu is dead.

Now to send it back, at least I can use my pc with my old gpu now.

did they send you a dead card, or did it get fried in the process ?

i think the first one and then it fried the mobo, if that makes sense. either way have to send it back and wait a couple of days.
