Oh mighty tech gods, I request your genius for a brief moment of time.

Looking to grab a new laptop, suitable for gaming for the next year or two. Not looking for something at the top of the range, something at a mid level.

I found this Acer 5755g, and I was wondering what you think of it and if you can recommend something better at similar price range. Don't really care about retailer, as long as they deliver to Ireland of course.

Thanks for the time lads [beer]

Be warned, Beth has had two Acer laptops and they both broke fairly quickly. That's the problem with Acer, good specs, shitty build quality.

I have an Acer laptop (Aspire 5920G) had my GPU replaced 2 times because of how frequently I was squeezing it to the fullest. :) Also the G86 chips were kinda faulty when under a lot of load.

What do you need it for? (I know, that you need it for gaming, but tell me where do you intend to use it, please, for example dorm, school, home?)

Do you need it to be portable? Will it be under a lot of mechanical stress (moving it to the school back and forth)?

My current lappy is an Acer(6920g) and I have been pretty happy with with. It has a few design problems with hardware and firmware, but overall I don't have too many complaints.

It'll be at home most of the time, only portablility needed is around the house. Mostly used for gaming and general use(net, music etc), oh, and little bit of coding.

Yeah, I have a similar opinion, if you don't care about durability because you aren't moving the laptop around the world so much Acer is not a problem. (And you know that from your own opinion as I see) I'd buy my Acer again if I had to decide.

Regarding the posted notebook, the specs are very nice for that price. You could look elsewhere though (they may have a lower price for it). But that's just me, surely there will be another opinions. :)
