| Post subject: | Windows freezes randomly |
Hey guys, recently I've been experiencing some problems with Windows 7 (32 bit). Basically it just freezes randomly without any special thing that might trigger it. For example I was surfing the internet yesterday (9gag, facebook, youtube etc. ) and the screen froze (couldn't move the mouse cursor, couldn't do anything basically). Also the hard-drive light was bleeping rapidly. I've reinstalled windows scanned the computer with two different anitiviruses and it came clean. Please help, it's gettinf on my nerves. Cheers. PS: been googleing the issue and this is quite similar: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debu ... t-0-a.html |

to me it sounds like a memory / harddrive on the way out, 60% memory / 40% disc dropped in the hdd |

Ran a memtest, RAM is ok. Gonna do some research on the HDD part. |

Sounds like a hard drive issue from past experience. Check your sata cabling and use a SMART tool to check for any issues on the hard drive itself. |

Check what's going on with Event Viewer. |

I'd go with hard drive too. Happened to me recently (again). If your not doing it already, back up any important stuff whilst you can. And if you start seeing check disk regularly deleting corrupt files (assuming you have it on) then yes, it's on the way out. That's how it's always started for me, usually a few days before any freezes or odd noises begin emanating from the drive. |
