Hit the wrong key and managed to unmount my storage drive and now its asking me to format to it get it back.

Is there anyway to retrieve the data that was stored on the drive? preferably free or a cheap program. Not got a back up of everything on it, would prefer to salvage as much as possible.

After trying loads of freebies with varying results, i tried EaseUS data recovery wizard, found the whole lot and kept them in the original folders and paths, shame it only lets you recover a gig.
Ended up buying the full version as i had over 300gigs worth of stuff to recover, as far as i am concerned it was well worth it in the end, plus if i do it again i have something to get it all back .
