A few days ago I moved to a new apartment. The internet here is a tad bit slower (from 100/100 to 10/1) but it didn't affect my gaming with anything more than a ~10ms ping increase on most servers. No big deal really.
Except for the fact that specifically on the Hampshire Heavy servers I have an whopping increase of ~60ms!
I am just going to check two things: 1. Is there anything you can help me with? I doubt it is on the serverside though... 2. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I would bet it is something with the route between my place and your server, so I guess I should talk to my ISP?
Grateful for any help!

Re: Oddly high ping
It would most likely be a routing issue (is it a new ISP as well?). You can do a traceroute from your side and you can also go here http://www.thehh.co.uk/hh2u/ to see what the server sees from the other side.
It is highly unlikely we would be able to do anything to improve your connection. A while back when we switched our dedicated server I had routing issues from MurphX, they eventually added capacity and the high ping was alleviated.
Any major jumps could be a choke point, however some hops are set to give low priority to ICMP traffic so it is not conclusive.

It is a new ISP. I sent them an email and I plan on calling them tomorrow to check if they can do something about it. I also got 30/10 instead of 10/1 ordered, it shouldn't affect the ping but might send my along another route to your server (besides, I need faster internet anyway).
I am not well versed in networking really, so I added a picture of both me and the HH trace. I am hoping that someone can tell me what it says really I really appreciate the help K3D!
Our box is plugged into a router called vss-3-6k. You can see this router in the first hop of the traceroute results that you obtained from http://www.thehh.co.uk/hh2u. Each step or hop is another router in the Internet on the route between our server and your PC.
Some of the routers in the results, such as vss-3-6k, rbx-g2-a9, gsw-g1-a9, fra-5-6k, can be found on the following live internet traffic weather maps provided by the company that hosts our server.
This is the data centre.
This is the backbone on which everywhere else in the world connects to it.
All the routers are labelled and you can follow the connections between routers that match the results from your traceroute. It would seem what fra-5-6k is the primary cause of the higher ping you are experiencing.
Routers or connections that are coloured red connection are near, or are at, saturation point, and will be significantly contributing to the overall latency of your connection to us.
In addition to network usage, there may also be problems or planned maintenance that could affect connectivity to the HH server. Anything of this nature will be listed on our provider's status page. http://status.ovh.co.uk/?order=status&p ... sort2=desc look out for routers listed in your traceroute or the Roubaix 3 data centre or dedicated servers in general.
Unfortunately, all of this is outside of our control, but at least it gives some understanding and insight it to what might be the cause of the problem.
Of course, it's also a possibility that there are issues with your router, ISP and anywhere else across the route between your PC and the HH server, so it's always worth checking whatever status information that your ISP provides.
