+1 on the Moto G and GiffGaff. It's what I switched to after finally ditching a 14 year contract. Best value for money and performance for both the network and the Android phone. You can usually pick up the Moto G 16GB for £120 on pay as you go in places like Tesco, and then get an unlock code for £2 on ebay. If the Moto G is a stretching your budget, then the ZTE Blade Q Mini is a decent and recent Android phone that you can pick up for around £50-£60, it will locked to Virgin, but you can unlock it for about £4 via ebay. However, if you've set your sights on getting a Windows phone, then the Nokia Lumia 520 is a good and popular choice. |

If you decide to go with GiffGaff then I can send you a referral link, that way we both get £5 credit. Only bad point is their customer support is awful and their forums are full of psychos, barely had to use it though. It's currently £100 at O2: https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/phones/moto/g ... nk-_-blank O2 locked phones work on GiffGaff (same parent company). edit: just checked, have to top up another £10 on O2... |

As this phone doesn't have a microsd slot, then I think it's worth getting the 16GB version. |

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini which are good, though the s5's are due out soon. Mines on a £12 a month contract which is good for the phone with T-Mobile. For apps concern, Android or Apple. Though the windows phones are quite good. |

Thanks Harley Those Samsung Galaxy phones are quite good, not sure if they do PAYG on them. I just have a basic phone and just want to upgrade to a more stylish phone. So I may go for the windows phone. I only do PAYG as i'm on a low budget. |
