I have been trading for a reasonable amount of time now and I am just opening a discussion here on what trading tactics you use and how you profit from it.

For me, I just simply wander through trade.tf, picking out potential bargins. And I also buy craft hats for around 1 ref and resell it for 1.33 to make some profit. As I have learnt that its best to make alot of small profits rather than one big profit because it is simply just quicker.

Get a real job

Buy low, sell high. Works evertim.

Find gullible/greedy people and send phishing links to them on steam chat, with a trade proposition that seems too good to miss out on. Oh, wait...

inb4 frog is trade and steam banned.

for me: i cant make money in tf2, i am just too impatient and buy at full price instead of waiting for quicksells, and when i want to sell somehting, its always a quicksell.
my way of bringing value to my bp is via marketplace.tf and tf2shop.net

It was a callous and cruel joke, because I believe something similar to that happened to Advanced 'ban-bypassing' Cori.

I don't know if I want to ask about what happened or not.
Part of me is curious and part of me would rather not touch it with a 10ft pole.

Wow, I just wanted to make a positive discussion on trading (as I am soon getting into unusual trading) and then you make these type of remarks (I didn't even know about phishing at the time then and it didn't even happen like that). I'm regretting that I donated to TheHH.
