I've been watching this series of long Youtube videos for the past few days and I feel like more people should check them out so here I am.
It's basically just real people from all over the world telling stories and talking about concepts such as love, war, poverty and such. There's people from literally all walks of life. Poor and starving African people, Asians working in horrible conditions, homeless American people, abused housewives, Australian aboriginals, people on death row...
Some of the stories are very moving, interesting and eye-opening. There's three about 90 minute volumes on their official Youtube channel so they're all free. I wholeheartedly recommend these. I've been watching these on the bus and it's great.
Here's the description for the first video:
Quote:
What is it that makes us human? Is it that we love, that we fight ? That we laugh ? Cry ? Our curiosity ? The quest for discovery ? Driven by these questions, filmmaker and artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent three years collecting real-life stories from 2,000 women and men in 60 countries. Working with a dedicated team of translators, journalists and cameramen, Yann captures deeply personal and emotional accounts of topics that unite us all; struggles with poverty, war, homophobia, and the future of our planet mixed with moments of love and happiness.
Watch the 3 volumes of the film and experience #WhatMakesUsHUMAN.
The VOL.1 deals with the themes of love, women, work and poverty.
Vol. 1
