Haha really good fun I tell ya that. Any of you been Paint Balling?

My friend offered me a free ticket to go with him and his mum & dad, so I thought I'd come with. I got top player in four out of the five rounds we played and completed each mission except the fifth one myself.

Games Played

1st Game - Capture The Flag.
Round 1: I had to get used to what I was doing first. I got some cover and peered over the holes that were placed in front of me and managed to shoot two people who were in front of me. Luckily one of them was carrying the flag, and I managed to leg it back to their base without getting a single shot on me.

Round 2: Saw no action this time, in fact I saved my ammo because I was running low. I sprinted for the flag and took some cover which was provided near it, and had some help from my best friend who gave me some covering fire as I scored it for our team.

Overall Team Score: 20.


2nd Game - Bomb the Base.
Round 1: I took position in the bunker that was stationed on the right of our starting location. We were defending on a hill, and had to stop the other team from running up with a bomb. They had to throw / place it in this bunker and if they did successfully they would win the round. I managed to shoot someone in the head this round and take four other people down as well, including one of the bomb carriers from afar. But as one of the older players picked it up and legged it, firing random shots which hit my best mate standing near me, and scored it for their team.

Round 2: First five minutes of the game we were weakening their defenses so that one of us could run in with the bomb and score. That person was me. We were losing pretty badly as we hadn't scored yet or at least taken down half of their team. One of the older people near me said "You there, take the bomb and follow us three." He signaled to two other people. As they ran, forming a wall in front of me, I managed to slip pass all of the defenses and throw the bomb directly into their base, winning us the round with 30 seconds remaining. And at the end of the round, someone shot my arm at point blank range and managed to get me a nice little battle wound bruise.



My best mate and his dad were really impressed with my running.

3rd Game - Bomb the Base (2).
Round 1: Same rules, but we were attacking this round. I stayed far back and managed to pick off six people in the head who were defending, and the same people using the wall technique managed to score with the bomb for our team.

Round 2: My best mate and his mum were eliminated from the round and it was just my best mate's dad and me in this little hay stack. We looked at each other and were ready to kick some silver team's ass. We peered over to look at the situation and saw about twenty silver people. We looked at the guys on our right and left and said that we should hold this fort until they start coming round. Luckily for me I had the right covering flank and managed to pick off about fifteen people and our team successfully defended.

4th Game - Territories
Round 1: We were given four buildings to take over and hold and keep the other team from getting. I stayed with a squad of people and we managed to hold out a little fort on the right of our starting location for most of the round and I managed to shoot about two people. Until three other silver people managed to reach us and make us surrender the building. Luckily my best mate managed to take it back with his dad, and we had two buildings remaining and they had two also.

Round 2: Same again, but I nicked the silver technique. We were down three to one and I had gone to the far left to flank two buildings with my group of five. I rushed in and pointed my gun at the eight people in the hut. I shouted "Surrender and you will not be harmed!" Now if someone shouts surrender, that means that EVERYONE in that hut is eliminated and has to give the building they are in to us, but that didn't stop one nutter shooting me in the leg three times until I shot him five times shouting "SURRENDER YOU IDIOT!" And he eventually left with his other mates. Again the scores were even after the round, two for two.

Final Game - Defend the Helicopter
Round 1: I didn't enjoy this game too much. Our team was confused by the rules of having to "Save the Pilot" as well as the Helicopter by defending it all. Our pilot was shot instantly and we didn't even get a chance to reach the helicopter.

Round 2: Luckily we managed to pull it back a bit this time. I only shot one person however until I was shot two times in my head by some guy on the right of me, who thought it would be funny to shoot my ass as I walked off too. One of our members managed to shoot their pilot though and it won us the round.

And this score made us first place out of twenty other groups.
Had a brilliant time, I also managed to shot a few phrases from TF2 while I was at it.

Wow, sounds like a load of fun! Wanna go paintballing as well soon, but Ive never been before. I played a thingy called laser games though, where youre in a darkened place (was an old house with 3 levels), walls plastered with graffities, music at an ear-bursting volume, everyone gets a gear that records some kind of laser shots and a gun that shoots those lasers (you can really see them, that amazed me the most, but hell, I was 15 at that time)...

Goal was to storm the enemy base (not getting hit fkors), you had a limited amount of ammo displayed on your gun (99 shots, but you could fire like crazy) which could be restored at your base, where you also had to go to "spawn" again... In the enemy base, you had a kind of machine where you had to fire in a small mirror that reflected your shot, in order to unlock the real goal (looked like an atomic bomb in James Bond movies) that slowly came out of this machine, shoot it and win the round. I managed to do this 3 times with the help of my mates. Got ranked first of everyone

And then say that video games dont give you a basic knowledge of warfare...

I know that you got it free, but how much do you usually pay for a game of paintball?

Well I'll make a list.
Ticket: About £35.00 for adults. (Comes with one hundred paint balls and free equipment!)
Paint ball refills: About £6.99 for a bag of one hundred. (I fired around 500 shots I reckon.) So 5 x 6.99 = £34.95
Gloves: These gloves were very helpful for grip and were very comfortable. But cost around £8.00
Drinks: Coke costs 85p. I had 5 that day, 5 x 85 = £4.25

In total: Around £82.20 for myself.

It very much depends on how trigger happy you are!

Where I go (in West Yorkshire) it's £20 and you get 100 balls free. You can buy 100 balls for £7. Paint Grenades are £3.50 a go.

Couldn't by them though because you have to be +18 to use fireworks.
But that doesn't stop them from being cocks with them, I had to throw one of my team mates at an enemy base because he threw it right next to me thinking I was an enemy.

Are you talking about Quazar. I had the opportunity to play the game while I was staying in England for two weeks. A lot of fun if you have a good team.

Nice report, Spine. Always wanted to go paintballing, but so far I didn't have the opportunity. When I get around to play it, I'll probably put on a basebal cap, run and jump around on the field like a maniac and shout: "I'm gonna headbutt'cha, I'm gonna headbutt'cha, I'm gonna headbutt'cha!"
