Snatch, know its been out for a while but just got round to watching it, absolutely fantastic, if you like Lock Stock, then you will love this, proper British gangster film.

AvP Requiem
First of all they forgot to take the lens cap off. I can't see shit.

Secondly, its bollocks. You'd have a more enlightening and enjoyable experience setting yourself on fire. And you might be able to actually see that.

Last film I watched that was any good was Alien 3 the other night. Not really a classic of the series, but compared to AvP it deserves a titanic amount of Oscars (pun intended).

Yeah i watched it on c4 too just like i have been watching all the aliens films all week. By god they butchered the series, it should have stopped dead at number 2 and maybe at a push alien 3.

I will say one thing though, avp2 is a lot better than that dross avp.

had a sci-fi triple whammer last night.

starting off: Monsters

well, what a pile of crap. this film was almost awesome, but after it finished i felt violated and robbed of a decent film. On one hand it had fairly awesome visuals, quality music and some good, if not a little cliched, sci-fi stuff. absolutely love the context of the story and thought it did a fairly good job of making it believable...and the whole thing completely ruined by a shitty stereotypical and predictable love story, it kept switching back and forth from sci-fi to romance movie. it was so bad, maybe made worse by the fact it could of been a great film without it. oh well.

next up, to try and redeem some sci-fi karma, was a low budget shitter called: Homeworld

this was actually half decent imo lol, properly bad acting the worst i have ever seen in parts, mostly poor visuals it looked like it had been filmed by students most of the time, very bad and sparse special effects, awful costume design (?).... but a decent story, and the 'twist' was not what i had predicted at all. still, no way will i recommend this film. unless you really like low budget sci-fi. but for a good story this one is not the worst.

Ok so at this point i needed something solid, i went with knowing after reading about the story, sounded pretty cool.

and it was the best of the 3, really good film i thought, apart from plot holes and some hollywood cheese but meh it was worth it for the good stuff. it managed to scare me in that way only really decent horror can, idk why, but the dudes....the dudes man there scary..
Also i have never liked nicolas cage, just dont like his face, and never got his acting...until this film. i am now converted cage fan (no homo).

Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Overall good movie. Good plot for Resident evil, pretty much something what i was expecting after Extinction. The 3D was just bonus. 8-)

Throne of Blood

Japanese 50's remake of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Very similar feel to Seven Samurai of the same era. Epic. Lots of Japanese shouting and OOOAAAAHHHHHH's.

Raising Arizona

Nicolas Cage being... A complete weirdo. Fun film, very confusing, lots of funny quotable lines.

Four Lions

Not quite as fun as the Brass Eye series also created by Morris, but very funny in places nonetheless.

A perfect blend of satire from all angles, not just taking the piss out of Muslim Extremists, but the environment that can create them and the stigma from the whole of society.

Quite sad in the end.

raising arizona's a good film, been ages since i last saw it.

Children of Men

Seen it before but recorded it on itv2 the other day, exceptional film. The children laughing at the end credits is so eerie.

Oh man that film was awesome.

So brutal.

Very believable special effects also.

Social Network

was forced to see this movie with a couple of mates and I gotta say, as much as I like Jesse Eisenberg this film was just a big pile of overhyped meh-ness filled with justin timberlakes annoying curls.
