Quite a good watchable film, if not slightly lacking of the originals then definately a different feel to it. Much of this is the new historical setting but it also focuses on some central characters and their relationships without giving away details. Def will be appreciated by folks who've seen the first two films... Would almost be good to watch this before watching 1+2 perhaps... hadn't considered that... but it did leave me wanting to watch the original Underworld again soon. There's a few areas of lycan history I thought they could've taken a little further and maybe gone further back... but there could be another UW film, who knows nowadays. | |

As usual I will disagree. I thought rise of the Lycans was awful (actually I think the whole series was, but whatever). The only redeeming feature in any of those films was Kate Beckinsale, and sadly she doesn't make much of an appearence in the prequel.
That was really epic ...
