Saw District 9 yesterday. If I had to give it a score I'd say something like 4 out of 5. Now I know that pretty much anyone, critic or not, has given praise to this movie and I can definitely say most of it is deserved. I'm not a huge scifi-fan so some of the stuff was a bit "out of my league" but I could still enjoy it and that's what matters I guess.

Just finished watching Snatch, dunno why I haven't seen this one before but it's a good movie. It had some good parts in dialogue but some of it felt like it was written trying desperately to make an impact and fell flat but most of the stuff worked. Shame that Benicio Del Toro didn't have much of a role. :|

Inglorious Basterds:
Not his best movie but still a Tarantino movie though...

7,5/10

Chocolate - Good Korean Martial Arts action. Not great, but certainly not bad.

Transporter 3 - Yet more mindless car-porn from Jason Statham. That shit never gets old.

The Mummy 3: Return of the Dragon Emperor - some nice effects, hampered by a shit script and dreadfully miscast lead actress. One to miss.

Mongol - I thought this was ace. It's not an action movie, and can be a little slow at times, but a grand historical film nonetheless.

Saw District 9.

Been a fan of the director for a while now, even though this was his first feature length. I was a little worried my baby wouldn't be able to follow through but boy, did he ever. The film starts quite slowly. The first 20-30 minutes or so you are wondering where the plot is going, but then it starts to pick up pace. It continues to pick up pace more or less until the end. The action scenes in the last hour or so made me wet my pants a little bit in excitement. Its definitely one of those films you're going to want to watch on the big screen.

So yeah, I definitely recommend this one.

Ghostbusters

Watched this for the first time in absoulutely years (20+), this time on lovely Blu-Ray. A little slower than I remember, and the effects are showing their age except the Stay Puft marshmallow man which still looks impressive. The cast are as expected, superb in their roles. What surprised me from watching it now, much, much older is how rude some of the jokes are. I missed so much when I was little and watched it.

Great to watch it again though, fun but not quite as good as I remember it.

Saw District 9. The first half of the movie is great imo with all the similarities to apartheid. Becomes 100% action second half of the movie. Aint saying it's wrong (it was good stuff). Could've been more tho.
