Post Re: Street Fighter Thread
Abel: 6 out of 40 attempts

Sagat: 34 out of 40 attempts.

They got the same ultras except that Abel uses triple punch instead of triple kick. I have triple punch on same sade as the joystick thingy, does it really matter that much?

Most of the time when I tried with Able he kept doing the AA grab move or the starter for his triple combo. Weird :(

A shame, I'd really love to be good with Abel, he's the coolest looking character out there yet, at least till Cody comes in SSIV

I remember watching some high ranked SFIV championship and there was an Abel player who did the air grab twice a row when he tried to do his ultra. So I guess I'm not the only one who suffers from it

It should be clever, witty, kind, with a sports car and a big cock.

That's the same thing that screws up the execution of my brother, too. You can probably learn to deal with it in time, though.

I play on keyboard, that's not an issue there.

TBH, I don't find the netcode too bad- sure sometimes it can be aggravating but considering online is just for fun, it's pretty good IMO. I'm sure you get shafted by it a lot more relying on throws and parries (reacting to stuff) with Gouken but what do you expect. :P

I'd say the inconsistency bothers me more than the actual delay does. It's hard to know whether my execution failed me, or it's just the lag. Whether something is impossible, or I'm just mistiming it.
It's also a bit of a letdown that as a result of the crummy netcode, the pool of available players is smaller than it could be.

Otherwise, the new lobbies sound pretty good to me, as does faster gameplay speed, 10 (?) new characters and new moves for old ones- if that justifies 25-30€...I don't know.

If it comes to PC, then support for fighting games on the platform is sufficient justification for me. Also, I'd think it's going to be a bit cheaper than your estimations, even in ever-expensive Deutschland.

Clearly doing it wrong...I don't see how anyone can help you with this, practice it.
Look at what you're doing wrong with the input-display and work on your execution.

Yeah when I look at the input I seem to press something wrong on the joystick most of the time, I believe it's because I got triple punch on the same side as the joystick as mentioned earlier.

It most be, considering Abel and Sagat's ultra's are identical except triple kick/punch

I only played a small amount of SF Alpha on the gameboy, just yesterday I bought SFIV. I've never been that into fighting games but it seems fun, working my way through the challenges made me realise how precisely you had to time and execute some combos.

Tram Cho Cho it sounds to me like you are hitting the attack button too early, whilst you are still executing the QCF movement. Wait a fraction of a second after completing your single or double QCF, then input the attack (single P/K or triple P/K). That's what I was doing wrong for a bit at any rate, maybe it'll help you.

Maybe after a few months of practice I'll be good enough to face another human! (frog)

fJack I'd gladly fight you, even if my record online is roughly 2-35 or something. I still enjoy playing it. :P

We should make a HH SFIV tourney, just for the fun of it.

HH SF4 tourney sounds fun - hopefully that'll minimize lag-based gameplay retardation.

Also: LOL SF4 for the iPhone. There is nothing else I can say about that, really.

Yay fjack!

I can look into the tournament thing if you want, there's software out there that makes organizing brackets fairly easy- we should make it "HH and friends" though imo so at least Relentless from SAS and Swarley from vertex can take part, otherwise we might as well just congratulate pkt-zero right now.

What kinda format would you guys be interested in? Double-elimination or round robin?

Yup, that'd be the case...alright instead of faffing around here, I'll just go ahead and make a signup and info thread, we should be able to get at least 8 players together.
