1. Donkeys are adorable and funny.
2. I personally feel, that Telgor doesn't really have a "thing", like...no one defining factor that can be summed up very quickly. He's a musician, but more than that. He's not just a gamer with a cat.
3. It would cause his social status to increase dramatically, despite his current bossness.
When he walks by, people would go "Oh look, it's Telgor", and then in a voice lowered by admiration they would say "he owns a donkey!"
4. He'd always have funny, interesting, or ultimately sad stories about his donkey to share with those closest to him. And who wouldn't want that?
He would be a god among mere mortals. Nothing could stop his pipin'.
