My Doctor says I need a new Tablet.
So, I am planning on moving into the tablet market at last and was wondering on what a few of you folks on here have opinions on.
Looking at the £150-£200 area and particularly the Nexus, Galaxy Tab and Kindle Fire HD areas. But thought that I would throw it out here to see what favourites you have.
My wife and I both bought galaxy tabs last year (thanks to the offer Frog posted at the time - £150 from Tesco). They are superb and we still use them all the time. She also has an Ipad 2 but both of us prefer the Tabs.
Its not 3g though from what i can tell, if thats a problem?

Re: My Doctor says I need a new Tablet.
Thanks Hemsk. I had a slightly greater liking to the Galaxy, mainly because it is just a giant version of my Galaxy phone that I have been getting on quite well with.
That is a very tempting nice price. Not sure about 3G really, it will probably on my Wi-Fi most of the time, so this it very unlikely to matter.
Shall ponder for a bit and await any other thoughts, but not from Agent...

The doctor is in.
I bought myself a 16GB Nexus 7 a few weeks ago before the price dropped to £159.
I'm very happy with it so far - Jelly Bean is super smooth and I really like the smaller form factor, nice grippy back as well for those with sweaty paws.
A few users have had issues with screen lift down the left hand side where the Tegra 3 chipset is located, but mine has been fine.

Thanks Tiger. Having a bit of a rush crisis over Hemsk's Galaxy offer at the moment, just been reading about the £50 cash back as well. Seems too good an opportunity to miss.
Although I was determined not to make a snap decision... *sigh*

The Nexus 7 has a better resolution, faster processor and will get updates more quickly and for a longer time. If you have an Android phone you can set it up as a wifi hotspot for your tablet instead of getting 3G. Orange say they charge for this but in my experience they haven't noticed I'm doing it.

Re: My Doctor says I need a new Tablet.
Thanks all!
I read a bit more on the various options and found that as always there are pros and cons for all of them, so in the end I settled for Hemsk's too good to ignore option: the Samsung Tab.
I got hold of it yesterday at a local store and it seems a very nice gadget so far. Speedy, user friendly and a nice design.
With so many options, it did just feel right in the end to go for the price option and at £150, £30 cashback and an 8GB Micro SD card, I think I shall be happy. Even if there are others options with the alternatives.
