and was wondering if it's worth the price? wasn't really looking for a new monitor but am looking for a new system, and if i gonna buy a new fancy gfx card perhaps i should get it working on something more difficult than my crappy 19"?

Im sure someone gonna come on and say that the 5ms response time is too slow for gaming and you should really be looking for a 2ms monitor, but i have a 5ms samsung 22" and i cant notice much wrong with it. 22" is pretty sweet for gaming btw, its massive but just small enough so that you dont have to turn your head to take everything in :P. As a personal preference id get a monitor without integrated speakers (theyre a bit weedy @ 1W lol)

Other than that the price looks good, I got mine for e160 not so long ago, cant comment on the quality of that brand tho, never heard of them!

The biggest caveats when going for a high resolution TFT display is:

1, Do you have the horsepower to run at the native resolution (if not, how good is the monitor at scaling)

2, Is the dot pitch too small compared to what your eyes are used to, certain text may be physically smaller on the screen.

3, Input Lag, unlike the response time this is a separate metric where the workings of the monitor has its own delay before display. Anything over 30ms will give the feeling that you are dragging the pointer around behind you.

I've had a few monitors in my long computing time and a couple of Iiyama's (including my current 19" one) and have found them to be excellent quality in my experience, so would always recommended them. My biggest regret in hindsight was not to go for the widescreen model, so I would think widescreen is a no-brainer. Likewise the speaker situation Dr. Al mentions, monitor don't have speakers good enough for games. Also 5ms is fine, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I made the jump from a CRT to an Iiyama e2201W B1 after ages of putting it off. I've got to say it was a seamless transition and I am very happy with the monitor. I would recommend one to any gamer, can't speak for the Prolite though I'm afraid. You can get the B2 version of my monitor for about the same price roughly btw, maybe £10 more tops.

And yes the e2201W is 2ms, why settle for 5 when you can have 2 :P

24" AUO-PVA Panel for under £200.

When buying monitors always order from the internet and CAREFULLY open it. DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREEN PROTECTOR FILM. Fire it up, check for dead pixels, and if there are any send the bloody thing back under your 7 day distance selling regulations cool off period. It has to be in mint saleable condition though, hence the care needed when opening it.

Having said that mine had no dead pixels anyway so i wouldn;t worry too much :).
