Hello, after reading several times about the Red Dead Redemption thread I decided that I will buy myself a new console again sometime in the future.
Cant really decide what it should be though so a little advice (and not spam or fanboy talks) would be gladly appreciated.
I try to gather some info that I know of the two consoles basicly.
360: + Cheaper than PS3 + More Games (at least thats what I think to know) + Supports HDMI + Different Versions + Large Marketplace with Arcade Games - Monthly online fee - No Blu-Ray - Small Harddrive - Not really media friendly
PS3: + Blu Ray compatible + Media friendly (Videos, Music and Stuff) + Large Harddrive (Dont know what it is for 100% tbh) + Different Versions (Slim / Normal) + Was Linux compatible - Expensive - Less Games than the 360
There are other things I still dont know.. Does PSN support voice chat via headset? (360 had a 1-ear headset with a crappy quality) Why a large harddrive? Can you upgrade it (like connecting a USB-harddrive to the PS3)? Can you copy converted videos to the PS3 and then run them from the harddrive? Does the DLC cost money and is there more(or equally) DLC for the common shared games available on PS3 (like Fallout for example)? What are the most popular games for PS3? (I know of Little Big Planet, Uncharted and Killzone..not many more).
Some advice would be gladly appreciated...and yeah, go spam somewhere else, It will get deleted anyway. "buy a ps3 micros$ft is doing shit" is doing it WRONG.
Thanks
Is there no poll feature? Would like to see how many ppl actually own which type of console :< (maybe I am just blind)
The HDD on a 360 Elite, which is basically the same price as the standard one these days, is 120GB. That should be more than large enough for anything. There really isn't that much that will take up a great deal of space.

PS3 is media device, 360 for gaming.
Just my 2 cents

Xbox 360 ?
But really Monthly online fee you pay for your internet you pay for the console you pay for the game then you pay to play it.......... come on ?
I prefer xbox mate, it's not just the console itself that is cheaper, ps3 games usually cost £5-£10 more for some reason. Kinda cancels out the paying for xbox live thing imo. I don't even play my xbox online and I get plenty of use out of it. Plus as you say it has more games, only reason i've wanted a ps3 is for heavy rain (playing round a mates house) and mgs4 (played round a friends house in one sitting) aside from them might as well have gone xbox for all the use he gets out of it.

xbox 360 has the better controller
ps3 has wireless built in.. xbox charges a fortune for something that should only cost £5
xbox 360 has a history of failures which is now mostly solved if you buy new.
most games load slower on ps3 and require a mandatory hard drive install.
Agreed with k3d, the ps3 is shite, but i think it depends more or less on the user and you will get used to it.
If i were you fluff, I'd probly buy the ps3 cause of the media stuff and it is the console of the future, the 360 is just way too old from it's build and is not capable of doing what a ps3 can do. But since I may get the 360 of a mate for 40 bucks, go for the 360 so we can play online hehe.
