Gifting is still a functional workaround for that, isn't it?
I've not had a lot of trouble with that myself, though I haven't been playing a lot recently. Regardless, that's not an issue if you don't play with all random strangers.
If you mean the DLC, it's just a bunch of skins. The only point to them is throwing a couple more bucks towards the developers if you like the game. I like the guy in the suit and gas mask, though. The Gentleman Pyro ...sort of. |

I've never actually tried if that works to circumvent (although I guess it should), but in this case I'm not interested enough to bother- thanks for bringing that option to mind though. |
