I have it on good authority from the Internet this is awesome.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2600/

Apparently you have to get the fan patches before you play it.

It's actually not a bad little game although a bit dated now. Definitely worth a play though.

I've had a little go and it's not half bad. Writing's good in particular. I usually can't stand the Gritty Urban Fantasy Vampire setting, but I'll let this one off for being ahead of the curve somewhat.

Ive played through again a few weeks ago.

Honestly guys, this games so good! Youve got to choose between like 12 vampire clans (if i remember correctly), each with different abilities and specialities. Hell, chosing some specific clan even changes the way your character perceives the world (suddenly, you get different newscasts in the game etc). The game is full of dialogues with different outcomes and ways to navigate through them (manipulating, seducing, controlling, lying etc), something I love about RPGs. The story's quite good, the levels are more or less atmospheric (I remember that haunted hotel of the beginning, still giving me the shivers), characters are believable and unique...

On the downside, first thing to say is that its riddled with bugs! But now, I got the retail version, I didnt have a problem installing the latest community patch (which, by the way, is awesome, as it even unlocks features that were intended but never activated), solving all these problems: not a single crash and/or unsolvable quest during my last playthrough. And, to my personal taste, at the end of the game, it seems as if the guys responsible for the RPG elements went on vacation and asked the action department to take over and finish the job, as towards 3/4 of the game, you dont stop fighting, which isnt very rewarding if you kept to the RPG side of the game...

All in all, a very good game, worth playing, at least until you recovered the sarcophagus :D
