I really think I need to play this with a good group as I was rather non-plussed by the single-player (insanely easy!).

Vista64 issues also so will be installing in XP on release.

Just a little stuttery performance... maybe down to my dual cards again. Wasn't too bad- prob was a fix somewhere.

Things like Farcry2, TF2, Gears of War, UT3 all run silky in Vista64... cranked to the max. Just some dont seem to like it.

I'm still ironing out glitches in my PC though- so prob my configuration. Many things run great but all should run effortlessly really- it was a top PC earlier in the year. :(

Downloaded to XP now and all is fine now though! :D

Sorry if this has already posted. But I found using the standard tactics on EXPERT/or VERUS got boring and more importantly didnt always win anyway.

So I am now doing Anti tactics on EXPERT/or VERSUS during normal gameplay (thats except for the Finale)

Basically its employing 'opposite' of the norm thinking in certain instances. All with the aim of getting further up the Movie reel and hence winning.

Lets use what we know about the 'Specials' to our advantage.

Dont do what the AI Director (Valve) or other Humans expect or want you to do.

The most simple one is 'when the Tank appears' anyone finding themselves ahead of the Tank should (if possible) make a Speed run to the Safe house.

You get at least 30 seconds wit no Boomers no Hordes no Witch, so just take a chance and make a Speed run.

Think in the same oddball way for the other Specials;

I.E when your team kills a Boomer, you know there is 90% chance there wont be another Boomer for 10-30 seconds so run ahead.

If you escape a Boomers vomit, but see a teammate (whose been spunked) run into a closed area. Consider a Speed run to the next Crescendo moment, or better still Safe House.

If a Smoker is killed or he misses, then just run ahead as a group, dont hang around. He'll be out of action for a short time.

Always startle the Witch with a couple of gas tanks just for fun. (Losing points is nothing to blasting her in the head)

But still try to stick together in normal circumstances as Hunters are only effective on loners.

Having said that, if your team have just killed a Boomer and Smoker, that makes the Hunters pretty much useless, so again make a Speed run.

Throw all Molotov's and Pipe bombs to the side of your desired path (45 degrees should be fine) and make a dash with just you and your Gun.

In Versus mode only; Any teammate who gets snared by a Special or is surrounded by the Horde. Aim to shoot them in the stomach region. Just a one or two bullets quicky despatched in a reflex motion from you in their direction should do it. Not only does that save time but means you wont get drawn into a Horde of Infected. Then you can cover their retreat from a safe distance!

Also in Versus mode; Halfway from Safe house to the next ammo cache, all of you team store you main weapons and start going akimbo. If the Specials think you have run outta ammo they may all attack at once. Then Bam, they all die at the hands of your Main guns. Thats the cue for a Speed run.

And now for something not so radical, but I don't think its been listed.

All remaining/four Survivors should each leave the Safe house/Med station with a Heath Kit on their back.

It doesn't matter if you are almost dead.
Do not heal up if that means someone else goes without.

It is better in the long run to have all remaining Survivors with their own health kit.

You'll understand why as soon as a Special pouches on you!

Of course there are exceptions; such as if a Tank appears!

Do not worry about conserving ammo; start the map with the main weapon and dont switch back and forth to the pistol to save ammo. Often the Infected will jump you while you fiddle about with your guns.

But do make sure you pickup that second pistol; as you will run out of ammo soon and you'll need the dual action to get you to that ammo cache.

Do not upgrade from Uzi to M16. The Uzi has a faster rate of fire. Just remember to aim for the upper torso.

Do not upgrade from Shotgun. Most friendly fire occurs from the Autoshotgun. People get careless and think they are invincible with the Auto function.

With removal techniques: Go up to her, wait for her to stand up, shoot her in head with shotty (doesent matter witch bad dum tish) , witch dead team unharmed, AI director highly pissed off, a tank spawns 30 secs ahead and a witch at the door of the saferoom (no joke :P )
May nto work on expert :P

When playing as the survivors in versus mode and you're in the farmhouse on the last stage in Blood Harvest and the tank appears... try not running outside, but instead all stay defending against the wall where the ammo is, using auto shotguns. ;)

Always be aware of everything going on!

Unless you absolutely have to, never deviate too from the set path in verses mode.

Hunter's are silent when standing / running, melee is 10 damage per hit, a pounced melee is 5 every hit and unless you get pounce damage will mostly only get in 2 hits before you die. so In a lot of situations just running in and out slashing away will do more damage than pouncing.
