well your pretty much on the mony there mate, i found it awsion for the first few months, now i only play 3 of 4 times a month when im in exactly the rite mood and someone invites me at exactly the rite time otherwise i just cant be arsed. as fa as the gameplay goes its a pretty solid game, and there are loads of trick to it, i.e. the is a specific way to play each class of the infected. and there are also lots of little bits in maps that are best for certain classes, so it does pay to play more and learn the game. but having said that you shouldn rly need to learn it too much to enjoy it. i guess what im trying to say is that there is lots to do and learn if you want to annd if you dont then it might get a bt dull after a month of hardcore fiending

Yeah...that's what really annoyed me about it; played the beta/demo and loved it, got it, played it and had to come to the conclusion that if you played the demo, you allready saw about 75% of the game (not literally of course). Was quite disappointed and am done with it.
If you wanna buy it, personally I'd wait until the next update is released; see if they add a decent amount of content, then decide.
It certainly isn't a bad game and there is more to be discovered than you can see in the first playthrough but I'd wait to see if they hold true to their promises first.

After starting this topic three months ago now and then having picked up the game, I have to say that if you know people who play this a lot, great times are had. I still find it enjoyable, but not with randoms, but I played the 360 demo for like 15 minutes. But that demo still left out a lot.

I'd have to agree with this. I think I bought it the day it came out. Didn't have internet for the first month or so as I moved about a day later, so played it on single player only. Not much fun, but ok for practicing playing as the last survivor I guess.
Playing with friends is much more fun, and about the only fun, really. Unless you join a server that has 3 friends playing already, as opposed to 4 complete randoms of which you're one.
I'm still not bored of it. VS and expert mode on any of the campaign things are still loads of fun to me. WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
Doesn't matter if they're not amazing at it, even on expert (Though it helps a lot of course) but if you can have a laugh and some decent co-operation it's very rewarding.
I think I'll play more TF2 though, but I've been away so long i'm not sure what's going on. I know scout's been updated. Engi too? Or just their structures?
