And I had just uninstalled L4D due to the BT Homehub blocking the ports that L4D needs to play online, with no way of unblocking them.

Buy a new router!

In all seriousness, I hear the homehub isnt exactly great, and a fair few people get one but never use it because of the trouble it causes.

wierd how you can play tf2 but not l4d though.

I didn't think you had to forward any ports for Steam to work.

Thats weird 3f. I had a home hub before I moved and could play l4d. Sure it was the ports?
