i'm a bit late on this. but you can forward ports on the home hub.
go to advanced options username: admin password: the serial number found on the back of your hub and go to application sharing, it can all be done there, steam games is one of the presets so just assign it to your pc
Except that it's not the ports.

it is, "application sharing" is just bt's funny way of saying "port forwarding"
if you create an application you will see what i mean, you can tell it which ports to open, give the application a name and assign it to a device. i've done this so many times.
whenever there is a port issue for me, doing this fixes it.

fair enough, but you did say it was a port problem, when you now say it isn't.
