Go to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\media and rename the file called "l4d_lighthouse_bg01.bik" to "l4d_lighthouse_bg01.bik_old" incase you ever want to go back to the old menu. Then paste the new file in the same folder.
Also, if you want to stop the old menu music from playing alongside "Thriller" go to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\sound\music\UI and rename the file "gamestartup1" to "defaultgamestartup1". Again, incase you want the old menu music back.
Start up the game and Huzzah!

Oh my god, that L4D music going over it as well. You'd probably have to delete that from original sound file to make it stop going over the Thriller music.
Great idea though, haha works really well.
