Erm l4d was realesed on its announced date .... I reckon the daylight will work well tbh add a nice feature and mayby have trransition to late evening+cloudy to night + heavy rain for the fianles etc which would realyl add to it

Transitions or something fancy in the sky ala opening of episode 2 would help with the daylight thing def. Although I dont see it being a huge issue with the recent twiddles to source...

also cmon guys getting annoyed at paying for a sequal? just because valve often give away free content doesnt mean they can always do it, man like COD, halo, madden, fallout etc etc there is NO other franchise that people would even batter an eyelid at paying for a sequal so just cause valve are often generous with freebies its ok to be pissed about paying? thats ridiculas its not free to make games.

Guess what, those people are milking the hell out of said franchises as well. The complaints are there precisely because people don't want Valve to do the same, especially not given their track record and promises.


It's not as if L4D2 costing 60$ on consoles and 0$ on PCs would result in a more favourable reaction - just complaints from a different group.

the whole ai director is being overhauled, multiple changing routes, rolling crescendos, if you read the various articles in this thread, you will see there's alot more to it.

Imo we've been lucky to have so much free content from Valve, 360 users are used to paying £5-£10 for a few new maps and gamemodes every couple of months in games like Halo and COD, and Valve just give it away.

i for one will be happy to pay for this when it comes out, and i'm sure every one will forget the initial moaning when we are frantically killing wave after wave of zombie on nov17.

I still dont think it will be another game, and it all still sounds like stuff they could add improve quite easy. But as u say free or not im looking forward to playing it.

But the game is already have done. The concept, the engine, most of the art assists and the basics of the AI Director is all pretty much done. It may move a bit, but I expect this to hit by the 31st December 2009.

Pricing confirmed, it's a full sequel, it'll be full price.
