Also one question to people saying 'it a lot of the same'. What did you expect ? it's a sequel, they are not gonna change the winning formula, just build on top of it.

I guess we think all of this could have been in the first game. I havent seen much that warrants it being sequel. But then it's console limitations that initiated the move, I guess

call me bitter but....

its the same game with a few extra new zombies... i found noting new or intresting that made me go, "oh thats good!" part from maybe the still alive song in the jukebox, but i really feel that its same ol' thing be fun for 5min then get boring dead fast.

I be passing on this till its about £10 or free  :P

Are games getting worse or are we just getting more boring?

games jsut aint what they use to be, bring back the days of beating a game ment something!... took me alot of yrs to beat battletoads, but lest i felt like i did something when i did, now days you can beat a game in a weekend and feel ripped off :(

well you could say that about practically about every game that comes out today and is a sequal ranging from CoD till Every car or sport game , guitar hero, any thing by bioware or EA, HL2 and its later episodes, WoW series, Halo series need i go on ?

but there is still a point there. I think an expansion would have been in order rather than a stand alone sequel

Well a lot of things are to blame for that. Mainly is the casual clientele that is dominating the market which steers the games more towards 'interactive movies' rather than a new kinds of chess plus no one is making games to last more than the inital 2 month that is it hyped.

Multiplayer. To many games are worried about how it plays online with 19 other people and sure thats fun, it really is hell i had some the most fun online playing with mates, BUT the single player just seems empty now days, look at batman great game, over far to quick and the end well that was just a joke.

I don't know maybe i am just getting old and miss having tape loadin errors!... lord never thought i would say that, or the days when you first found out who with in that metroid suite, hell when you first sat down and turned on a snes to find street fighter on your TV, no more begging for money to go the to arcade.

Dam it i need to make a new post about this....

Yea single player games are all about 'story' and character development and blah blah which is good but pple forget the 'game' part on occasion, much like a movie or a book.

The last really good SG game was prolly thief series and Hitman 2 not only were they Hard they also had longevity. I still am trying to pass thief 3 on hard w/o incapping anyone stuck on the orphange lvl tho :(

lol if you are saying l4d had no story or a short single player that is largely in a similar way tf2 doesent, its not meant to have :P As for games being worse now, they arent they are much better its jsut standards and expectations that have risen so much, that alot more effort is needed to make a game truely stand out and be a classic, and hell lenght isnt really needed either like cod4 being a great single player game yet only 6 hours long

well i must say i disagree. Cod 4 id only as great as far as it is stuck its own ass. Multiplayer is heavily geared towards machine gu camping fun as well as the shoddy leveling and perk systems. Feels a lot like a dummed dmwn version of Cs

I was ranting about the MP coz i thought it was self explanatory why SP was shite. I will exprapolate then.

First off im not gonna into the story and the characters coz its not an RPG it an FPS you dont need a reason to kill baddies period.

First of the games formula of hide-shoot-cover against INFINITE amount of baddies while completing stupid objextives (rescue plant bomb shoot tank etc) is never mixed up.
And playing 10mile whack a mole is not fun... at least for me. Escpecially since half the time you cant tell where they are coming from a) you get killed by a barrage of grenades which the enemies are all too happy to throw b) and you have to do most of the leg woek despite havign a 'team' c. If you think the little mini game of crawling out of the busted chopper is good then please do me a favour and go git urself a gurlf war movie. It is precily this kind of cutscne crap that is killnig the industry.

Im glad i only played this game on a frends ecks bawks so i dont hav to buy it
