How can you separate the world / environment that the game is set from the game itself? They are one and the same thing.
So stop condescending to me with your capital bold as if I can't read and accept that we both have different views on what makes a good gameplay experience without that meaning I am misguided.
i am not trying to condenscent to you 3F just trying to make it out clearer. I am not trying to offend you mate dont be so defensive about it.
Now the world and the game are two differnet things .Thank you Entrails for putting more eloquesntly than i did. Story = the way i see it is the narrative plot ( Gordons adventures) Gamestory = Background in the game.
I am arguing about the narrative plot not the back ground.
And one can of the above mentioned can be rich witih another
eg: Lord of the Rings universce with rich lore and traditions can tell a story of hobbit who went to a festival and choked to death on a sour grape. Back ground story is Epic Narrative = hobbit choked on a sour grape boring
Like wise take boring univerce X where you are space marine number 568357 but the guy was born into Royalty then through political intrgue which he instigated he got banished and became a marine gladiator to fight for his freedom and eventually got promoted to a rebel general to over throw the system to be able to marry his own cousin or something Boring setting cool narrative
if you feel offended by me saying that ur misguided then I apologise, retract what i said and I will stop that. but we are still aruiging about different things here

I'm going to derail this slightly; since it seems that we're now arguing terminology and not the merits of the argument itself; and pick up on the censorship issue that's been raised. Again.
The Australian version of the game will be the same. The tactics, teamplay, required skills, and the challenge will all be the same. The VS mode will be the same. The new realism mode will be the same. The only difference will be a slight change in visuals. Hell, if anything, removal of disabled models will likely slightly improve performance.
I ask myself, did anyone not buy Carmageddon when the blood was green? Did anyone not buy Carmageddon 2 when they went on to use wierd greeny yellow insect blood, even after the first game had the blood patch? (Incedently, someone should release a new Carmageddon game, it's been long enough that people have forgotten the flaws, with current technology it could be awesome.) Remember, graphics maketh not a game, and gore is just one aspect of graphics. Quite frankly it was an aspect of graphics that I didn't require when I was twelve, let alone now.

Fair enough but tell you what aussie and gemrna version do not have Riot cops (vioence gainst authority) same way Cod 4 WaW had no zombie mod in the german version and no blood or headshot mechanic so you didnt know if you scored a hedshot or not. Im not saying gore is vital but in the games where it is a main feature (some FPS or survival horror) removing it devalues the game. Imagine Resident evil or Dead space with no gore, games are not scary and become just another crappy adventure games.
Ok, I didn't know about the riot cops thing. Strikes me as lazy on Valve's part, I'm sure they could have remodelled it to something else, I don't know, an American footballer or something.
Gore doesn't make a game scary. Atmosphere, tension and setting make a game scary. I haven't played Dead Space, but Resident Evil is not scary, apart from two points right at the beginning of the first game. Lots of gore, but not scary. Now, Project Zero, or Fatal Frame if you own a Playstation, that's scary. And it has zero gore.

Well the scariest gaem i evur played were Silent Hill 1 and 2 nearly shat meself both times and little no gore thar but still visceral games are still very attractive
Don't get me wrong, I love the new damage model, I just don't think I'd miss it if it wasn't there. Taking away actually game mechanics though, that's a bit harsh.
