lol - what i wanna know is how the hell do they know this? I think they're making this up - surely they have no idea how much someone on a server not run by them is using their mic?

run netgraph and it tells you how much voice data you're sending. I guess it's pretty easy for Valve to get that data and analyse it by region.

I'm sure HH parties account for more than 50% of all UK voice traffic in TF2!!

Its weird I give up PC gaming for a bit and UKs ingame voice traffic drops.

I think valve need to play on more UK based community run servers

ah ok makes sense i guess

more likely americans are just spamming over their mics a la HON style and drowning us brits out hehe

it is quite true tho even on tf2 - a lot of the time i feel like i'm the only one using my mic to shout out where enemies are etc lol

A large portion of US servers i've played on have all-talk on aswell with at least one person trying to play an entire song over the mic.. no wonder the stats show more mic usage for them.
