Yeah, I actually enjoyed 2fort last night. Normally, I can't stand it due to uncoordinated teams of random players, with hordes of engineers spending the entire round in the intel room, banging on their sentry. A teamwork atmosphere makes all the difference.
I'd be interested in playing next week as well.

I hated 2fort. You lot would go to their intel down one route, leaving me behind in the base, then the other team would come straight down the alternate route (sewers), mow me down, and take the intel. Very annoying, as 1 Pyro cannot take down a group of Medics, Heavies, Demomen and Scouts on his own.
If it's any consolation me (as Engy) and Octal (as Pyro) were having similar problems in our base at times. Personally tho', I enjoyed 2fort and thought the Highlander rule made for a more open game on it. It was bl@@dy close at the end.
I absolutely loved 2fort last night, and usually I find it a bit boring. Playing scout for the first 5 mins it was all a bit pointless as we seemed to be spending a lot of time defending, leaving me on top of the bridge just trying to generally cause trouble or delay the oppositions attacks or report on what's going on, which gets a bit tedious when you're on the back foot all the time.
Suddenly we got some impetus going forward and it was a totally different game. The whole thing opened up and I got some really good takes from the intel room and felt like I was contributing at last. I'd be interested in repeating it really just to see how the flow went again.
I really enjoyed dustbowl too, although that was probably down to the Scout battle I was having with Ares, which made my night. I also loved it a couple of times where a suicide rush resulted in medics popping their ubers way early. All in the name of the cause an' all that!
I'd be up for any format, 7v7 is probably my favourite, but still up for highlander or 6v6 too.

I love highlander, it means we have to think about every player's role
I agree, it really does aid teamwork and help players discover the subtle side of the game, like which classes pair well in certain situations, and how to become more tactically aware from a different classes point of view.
I have to say though, and I've considered over the last day whether to say this or not, but I feel I must.
If we are going to play highlander rules, that fellow team members must respect what classes we have agreed upon prior to the match. 5 mins were spent last night before 2Fort started, debating (borderline arguing with me) on who should play Scout when we could have been organising. It's not on that someone decides on the spur of the moment that they are playing any class, when as a team we have agreed our structure beforehand.
It shouldn't be up to anyone to arbitrarily 'decide' their class halfway through a game, clashing with what was already agreed in the days preceding. All it does is cause discord in the group and ill feeling. That is not team play.

I don't agree with you there. Sometimes, people just want to play something different: Playing the same class for a long time can be pretty boring, especially if it's something like Engineer. And don't forget that the reason we are doing these nights is for fun.

I agree with threefuries, we do need to make sure everyone is aware of the classes being played. Maybe beforehand work out switches? Personally, I'm happy to play engy for all games, though i thought about it and it does appear the loners class most of the time.
About the match: The first round of Badlands was awesome because the demo there (I think it was Lofa) was defending me, and I managed to kill 10 people on the point from there before I died. Unfortunately, the Clan must've got it together, as they were taking us out before we got it set up in the later rounds. Cheers again for the protection demoman.
Unlike the previous week, much more communication was happening. However I will say that it wasn't necessarily all constructive talking - at one point nick and sam had a discussion while Jesus was trying to communicate some plans. While I'm up for this being fun n such, we are trying to beat the other team, and it should all be more focused than a random server game.
I'm up for this if it does happen again next week. Engineer/Medic. goldrush if it's out...
