Regs Matches (and the ones we let the Clanners play too ;))
There's a really thriving Reg community on the HH servers these days, and many of us are clamouring for 'match' type games rather than the public mass death we usually play.
We've gotten a bunch of Reg V Reg and Reg V Clan matches off the ground so far and they've been ace (the ones I've been in anyway).
Now the one comment I have about the matches is when it comes to organising them on the forum they're not *always* the easiest things to sort out, or understand when and where they're taking place.
So I have a suggestion.
For any thread that talks about organising a match, adopt a specific format for the title of the thread. For example:
'Regs V Regs 07/05 8pm Server 3' or 'Regs V Clan Fun Match 01/04 2am Match Server'
so the format is:
Who the match is for Date Time Server
If your match thread does not match the format, one of the mods can (and should) edit it so that it is.
Then, in the body of your first message - as we're doing so far - repeat the location, date and time, list the interested players, any map choices and where appropriate any class choices.
We're pretty much doing most of this already, but if we can get into a habit of doing it to a standard format, it'll actually make life a bit easier for all of us.
Thoughts?
If folks are happy with the concept, then I'll happily make a Sticky thread (if I can) of the 'Guidelines for Match Threads'

yeah thats not a bad idea, i know i have difficulty interpretting some of the titles into the where and when details (never a problem with the date though).
Hard place, your listed as a moderator, can't you change the names yourself?
Re: Regs Matches (and the ones we let the Clanners play too ;))
Yeah I can. I was talking about match threads that other people (non-mods or admins) might start
But more than that it was about all of us adopting a common framework for them, making communication clearer.
Whilst I'm here I'd also add that I think the first post should include: the team size limit class limits and restrictions how many reserves will be held whether or not it's an open map choice or whether it's 'set' by the thread starter (or perhaps by the type of match) what conditions the maps will be played under (match config or pub config, or drugs in the case of Ares admining ) how many classes signups can choose (defaulting to 2 perhaps - a primary and a backup)
and any other information that'll let people know what they're letting themselves in for.
That's a fair amount of information, but if we can get it all or get a shared structure for showing it, then we improve our ability to organise the run matches for the community.
Re: Regs Matches (and the ones we let the Clanners play too ;))
The thing is Hard Place whiel we do try get all this across, soem of the information is not decieded till the last minute, so it can be a tad hard to do
Re: Regs Matches (and the ones we let the Clanners play too ;))
yes our names should be better but i think a lot of it some from getting bored of date match which is what we used to do if you look back. well thats why ladies night started and the reg v clan But i mean unless you are obsessively in the forum like some of us are then you can miss it or not know what it is about will try to change it in the future.

The solid info in first post is what should structure an organiation. The reason last ladies night went a bit awry is because the mod/initiator Wolfdevil hadn't a chance to read my follow up posts. I could'nt update the op so that confusion would arise and peeps would have to read the entire thread (*<-- unthinkable that*).
Anyway the method Hard Place posted is a really helpful way to get the max of info in one post which sounds a bit boring but is actuallly very useful. Keeping discussionas out of suscribwe thread is.. read fp react is the most reliable way
Re: Regs Matches (and the ones we let the Clanners play too ;))
We do have a format anyways but as said above we dont always have a confimered date time or server hence why it is not included, this is so you lot arent brought false info
