It was a pretty fun evening, in spite of my Internet thinking it should disconnect automatically after half an hour. Luckily I was able to reconnect and play the 6v6 on Badlands, where I lead our team to victory (or maybe my teammates lead us to victory, but I was the one who felt proud about it).
I also found it really interesting to play Highlander for once. It's nice to see all classes being put to good use. Nevertheless, I think I prefer the usual 6v6 or 7v7 format. The problem with Highlander is, that you'll have to stick with one class, even though it might be better to switch. Sometimes I would have made more of an impact if I had played Soldier or Demoman.
That, and I think one of the greatest things about TF2 is the fact, than you can switch classes during the actual game. That way it's possible for you to alter your strategy and force the enemy team to adapt. This creates some very tense situations and ultimately benefits the team that works together very well. When playing Highlander this isn't possible and as a result, the game feels a bit more monotonous.
As I said though, all in all I really liked playing Highlander and I think it was the best choice, considering we were 18 people. In a normal match there would have probably been to Soldiers and two Demomen on every side, which would have made the map pretty spammy for the other classes. And of course, the fact that the teams were very nicely balanced added to the fun.
