Re: Wednesday Community Matches - Cancelled
Perhaps a break is all that is needed....
or it could just be that Swampthing ruined it by putting one on sunday lol

Due to lack of interest there will be no more Ladies Nights.
Obviously this will be subject to review at some point.
HH cup dude i'm sure there would of been at least twice as many this week.
but its your call, for a replacement I think we should all get on HH3 and abuse admin powers! that used to be so fun whatever happened to late night regs server shinanigans

I don't think that's at all accurate tbh. Craki did a damn fine job of ensuring that the HH Cup didn't clash with LN. The one time it did, I was playing the HH Cup match myself and it was all over by 8:05.
The problem is that people can't be bothered to sign up. For some, they are getting their 'organised match' kicks out of the cup or out of the Sunday matches. That's all well and good. For others, they don't like the forums/think they are too difficult to use and because of that don't want to actually sign up or read the rules. Pardon me if I find their steam chat requests to play falling upon deaf ears. There's another batch of people who don't *want* to play which is all fine. And then there's a fourth group who, well, I'm not going to voice my opinion on that.
Given the effort that I put into sorting the nights out, and given the effort that others have done in the past it is incredibly incredibly frustrating to see people not signing up and then asking to play, or signing up and then bailing after 30 minutes, or whatever. Quite frankly it's a kick in the teeth every time that happens.
I and any of the other members and regs who put in the effort to set up community events don't deserve for other community members to treat their efforts with disrespect. Craki for example has worked so hard on the HH Cup and I'm very proud of him for what he's achieved. Swampy started GGD as a sister event to LN and that seems to be going quite well so far - kudos to him for that. And yet there are always going to be people who will be dismissive of what they do.
I don't want it. I'm not here to have my efforts diminished by people who aren't prepared to step up. One Ladies Night Bolt had a whinge about something (teams I think) and I snapped at him to do better. To his absolute credit he ran a series of LNs whilst I was sorting out my wedding and I respected his willingness to step up.
The bottom line is that LN is only fun if people participate, and it's only fun for me if I feel that it's worth my time to set up and run. Right now, LN is getting about 8 signups, including myself, and that's not enough to maintain the fun. 4v4 is good for the HH Cup, but it's not good for LN.
I will review LN in a few weeks, but I'm not going to go through the frustration of trying to get something going that obviously isn't currently appealing to the wider community beyond a (much loved by me) hardcore group. I'm not happy about doing this, but the lack of enthusiasm from the community is disaffecting to me and there's not a lot of point in continuing LNs at the moment.
I think the problem is people have no respect for he organising that goes into these events, the amount of people that sign up and then dont turn up ad as said leave haf way through etc, you should know your own life better than anyone else, dont sign up if you cant but i think the reason its died is laziness people cant be bothered to come make a post in the forum and then turn up on the day, i remeber back in the day it was the same when organising regs v clanners and such, and was one of the reasons i stopped aswell as time constraints and the league team.
I also think the birth of the second league team may of been a hit to it aswell with many of the people who did attend being in the 2nd team now, but i certainly think that it is better to recruit people from the community and these events to see whos good etc than to pick up randoms from the leagues themselves
I'm still interested in ladies night, the only reason(s) why I haven't turned up/signed up for the past few Wednesdays is because I'm lazy, bad at forums, and partly due to my general in-activeness on TF2.
Last time I played in one there seemed to be to much popularity, but that was a while back.
DAMN I just participated in 3 or 4 Ladies Nights (I'm not so long in the Community) and really liked it! Hope that someday LN will be revieved.. Sorry if you feel, that no one pays respect to your effort sarge
