But I do agree it can be hard to get those organised. Thats probably cuz people are used to come on the server whenever they feel like it and dont have a clue how hard it is when they sign up and then dont turn up, or when they don't sign up expecting to be called upon as a ringer. Its a bit lazy cuz the organiser tries his best to deliver a nicely balanced game.
I do agree if we continue with ladies night then people should see it as something more serious, not just a turn up and fool around thing, but something more of a challenge to get better at 6v6 gameplay.
I'd put up a poll to see what the interest of people is, stating very clearly that thos who vote are expected to be aware of these issues AND available regularly for the event, not to save ladies night for its sake.
Due to lack of interest there will be no more Ladies Nights.
Obviously this will be subject to review at some point.
HH cup dude i'm sure there would of been at least twice as many this week.
but its your call, for a replacement I think we should all get on HH3 and abuse admin powers! that used to be so fun whatever happened to late night regs server shinanigans
You know we said that when L4D and all the other games came out at the end of the year and our servers went empty. We said: "People will come back when the next update comes". Well, before we had all 3 servers full at all times and now... Now we have problems filling up just 1 server.

fair enough Sarge sorry to make it sound so simple when its not.
I respect the efforts and even tho i might of pissed off a few players for not having 'skill' or whatever i've tried to do my bit as a community member, as aposed to just being a good player and helping the team win, i dont really like (serious) competative play or having others rely on me, regularly dipping down to 5fps makes this a bad position to be in and i really couldn't give a shit about losing, so i havent enjoyed the games too much because of how serious they were taken and this could be another reason for the lack of intrest, or maybe not, i'm not actually sure how serious they're ment to be.. it seems community matches arent what I thought and these are the reasons i will probly not participate in any more, i admit i had no inttention of signing up for next week for the above reasons. i hope that doesn't come accross as disrespectful its not ment that way
Oh well i hope a little break and/or a realization of the efforts will make these happen again and be everything that people wants it to be.

While the servers aren't as busy as they were, we've had a steady influx of regs over the past few months. Some of them are settling in quite nicely.

I can only speak for myself or from my point of view but they never were that "serious". They were to be taken seriously as in "you sign up, you show up" and that it should give non-competitive players a taste of more organized gameplay- but most of all be fun. If you needed anything for LN it was social skills imo, shouldnt matter how well someone can play the game.
But people get frustrated when participants show no consideration whatsoever. I know one time I played someone just went AFK during a round, wtf is that? No respect for the team, the fact that X amount of other people took their spare time to show up and no respect for the people that organized it. I know how miffed I was about that, I can see why SHP feels the way he does.
Like Ares said, the founding of a second team was unfortunate for the LN, most of us used to play in them alot...but c'mon, get to it ye dirty ladies!
Anyway, personally always appreciated people organizing LN's, they used to be very fun and can hopefully continue at some point.

Re: Wednesday Community Matches - Cancelled
Like i said at the start if sunday is going to stop ladies night i wont do it anymore, ill speak to you about this when were next on vent sarge!
yes ofc if you sign up you should be there start to finish, unless something truly unavoidable happens ie PC crash/uber high ping etc (thats just unlucky and the point of ringers i guess), and also give it as much effort as you can. as Akasazh mention I think a clearer guidline of what it actually is and wishes to accomplish would help and save the competative players getting pissed off with fools like me signing up and running around like a kid who's had too much sugar.
fair enough Sarge sorry to make it sound so simple when its not.

If you ever felt you couldn't sign up because of your skill then that's a terrible shame, because it's not supposed to be about that. As fluffy said it was an opportunity to experience match style games. Yes they were designed to be competitive, but equally, the teams were balanced as best they could be to try to make sure that one team wouldn't outskill another. That's quite hard to do in practice, unfortunately, but the theory is that two equally skilled players will be on opposite sides, and you'll get a mixture of ability across each team. It's why you'd never see NTrailz and Kbramman on the same team in LN.
On the other hand, as a taster of 'match' play they should be taken with a degree of seriousness. You're playing to win, but also to have fun. Part of the theory is that some of the more experienced team members would 'lead' the team etc.. but that's not a hard and fast thing. Some matches were much much sillier than others..
Cheers for the complitment there Sarge, but Ntrailz seriously beats me hands down...
The amount of work you guys put into sorting out these events is so much its scary, and LNs are real good fun that I'm annoyed when work means I can't sign up.
I do hope these come back soon, Sunday's just aren't the same as Wednesday nights...
