That can work or it doesnt chance anything. For example Ares and K3D are on same team and ares is playing sniper and K3D scout. Then you can just sacrifice both and they just swap classes, so it doesnt make hell of a difference... Thats just my opinion so someone please correct me if im completely wrong.

Why ? This just seems odd people want to play their main class its jsut like saying you can lose since you have a star solly but he can only play pyro etc and then what about people like me who play scout,demo,solly all the the same skill level, sign me up as pyro plz

Meh, was just a thought, im trying to figure out a fair way of allowing people to play on the same team without having a giant super team that will destroy all, but i suppose one team has to win at the end, so what difference does it make

How about we do it similar to the HH cup. Have 1 league team player per team and have the rest of the squads picked at random.

Could do it the way you did the groups last time.

Get enough sign ups, and then just randomly assign people to a team.
Vet it for o/p teams and maybe do some minor swaps if they are to stacked..

That's an option at least...

Do it like football draws. You tier everyone into groups (Tier 1 the best then Tier 2 and so on...) and then pick say two players from each tier at random and then place them in a team. If it was just all random then there would be some serious team issues.

That would lead to too much skill police bitching.

See the thing is if you do all that it completely defeats the purpose of actually choosing the teams yourself and entering as a team. I think the way I will judge it is that when it comes to actually running this in maybe a month or two time, I will look at what has been suggested. If there is no genuine fair way to allow people to pick teams without one team being stupidly better then the other, then i will turn to what i know (the nations cup) and run a second one. Everyone enjoyed the theme despite early criticism so as many have said in this thread already, stick with what people enjoy.

The other changes i will be making to the tournament is trying to get 5 per team, but still 4v4 playing, so it allows for extra players to be there on the night. Also the scoring system will change to what was suggested by DJ, 1 point per win and if a draw comes up we go back to games won/lost. Also I will try get a seperate part of the forum for the next one too.
Thats all the changes that need to be done to the overall running, just the nitty gritty now.

Plus if I take part people are bound to demand I go in the tier 1 level, even though I'll be forced to play everything but medic - which I'd rate me as tier 3 or lower!

how about everyone selects 2 players they want to be in a team with or decide to be a random if they want to be a random then they randomly get placed into the team of 4-5 people. Obviously this relys on enough people deciding to be a randomer but i for one wouldn't mind who i'm with particularly.
